Brave Act of Survival: 13-Year-Old Girl Rescued After Pushed into Godavari River
A 13-year-old girl in Andhra Pradesh’s Ambedkar Konaseema district displayed remarkable courage as she clung to a plastic pipe in the Godavari River after being pushed off the Ravulapalem Gowthami Bridge by her mother’s live-in partner. Amidst darkness and the terrifying sounds of the flowing river, the girl managed to call the police for help while holding on to the pipe.
Sadly, her mother and one-year-old step-sister were washed away in the incident. The police were astonished by her bravery and promptly rushed to the scene after receiving the call. Despite the perilous situation, the girl held her nerves and survived the ordeal, ensuring her rescue by the police personnel.
The girl later revealed that her mother’s partner had pushed her, her mother, and her step-sister off the bridge around 4 a.m. on Sunday after taking them shopping and a series of outings throughout the night.
