A bomb blast near a police van in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province resulted in the death of at least five police officers and left 22 people injured. The incident occurred in Bajaur district as the targeted police van was en route to provide security for polio vaccination teams. The improvised explosive device attack prompted the suspension of the ongoing polio vaccination drive in the affected area.
Following the blast, security forces and rescue teams swiftly responded, transporting the injured to a nearby hospital, where several individuals are reported to be in critical condition. Authorities have cordoned off the area and initiated a search operation.
