Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent roadshow in Chennai, BJP national spokesperson C.R. Kesavan asserted that the event reflected the strong support and affection of the people of Tamil Nadu towards Modi, which unsettled the DMK and its leader, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. Kesavan rebutted Stalin’s criticism, stating that Tamil Nadu residents have seen through the DMK’s purported commitment to secularism and social justice, instead favoring Modi’s inclusive approach to development, amounting to over ₹11 lakh crore.
He criticized the opposition parties within the INDIA bloc as opportunistic, accusing them of prioritizing family interests over public welfare. Kesavan also highlighted various Central government schemes, emphasizing their focus on women empowerment, contrasting them with the DMK’s unfulfilled promise of total prohibition in the state. He concluded by asserting that people view Modi’s leadership as the antidote to the DMK’s governance failures and broken pledges.
