BJP Mourns the Loss of Veteran Leader Sreenivasa Prasad

V. Sreenivasa Prasad, the BJP Member of Parliament from Karnataka’s Chamarajanagar and a former Union Minister, passed away on April 29 at the age of 76. Prasad, who had recently announced his retirement from electoral politics due to his ailing health, had a distinguished political career spanning almost 50 years. Starting with the Janata Party in 1976, he later joined the Congress in 1979 before having stints with the JD(S), JD(U), and the Samata Party.

Prasad served as the Union Minister of State in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government from 1999 to 2004. Despite his retirement, Prasad’s contributions to Karnataka’s political landscape and his significant role in the BJP’s electoral victories will be remembered.
