BJP Leaders Absent from Key Meeting Amid Discontent

The absence of prominent BJP leaders from the office-bearers’ and core committee meetings on Tuesday has highlighted underlying discontent within the party’s ranks in Andhra Pradesh. Former State president of BJP Somu Veerraju, Rajya Sabha member G.V.L. Narasimha Rao, State vice president Vishnuvardhan Reddy, and Y. Satya Kumar were notable figures who did not attend, citing personal reasons. Despite attempts by the BJP leadership to persuade them to participate, they remained unavailable.

Consequently, a message was relayed for their presence at the State office the following day, where they were to engage with BJP national general secretary Arun Singh. The dissatisfaction stems from grievances regarding ticket distribution and the apparent neglect of long-standing party cadres, as expressed by unnamed party leaders. This development underscores brewing tensions within the BJP in Andhra Pradesh ahead of upcoming elections.
