BJP Files PIL in Calcutta High Court Over Attack on ED Officials in West Bengal
The West Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken legal action by filing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) at the Calcutta High Court, seeking its intervention in the recent attack on the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel in Sandeshkhali. The court, admitting the petition, will hear the matter on January 11.
The attack occurred on Friday, prompting BJP leaders to approach both the Governor and the High Court for intervention. The ED, in a press notification, claimed an orchestrated attack during which Trinamool Congress leader Sajahan Sheikh was present. The Trinamool Congress has raised questions about the inclusion of ED’s Assistant Director Rajkumar Ram, one of the injured officers, alleging an ongoing CBI probe against him.
