In a significant development, BJP leader Sriramulu has called for the immediate arrest of former minister B. Nagendra in connection with the alleged financial irregularities involving Karnataka’s Maharshi Valmiki ST Development Corporation. Addressing the media in Bengaluru, Sriramulu criticized the government’s acceptance of Nagendra’s resignation without pursuing further actions, insisting that he should face legal consequences.
Allegations include the illegal transfer of ₹80 lakh intended for ST welfare to Nagendra’s personal assistant. Sriramulu also welcomed Enforcement Directorate raids on Nagendra’s properties, suggesting deeper financial misconduct. He urged for an FIR against Nagendra and the recovery of ₹187 crore reportedly misappropriated from the corporation, emphasizing the BJP’s commitment to uncovering and rectifying financial improprieties.
