Bipartisan Agreement Grants Work Authorization to H-4 Visa Holders in US

In a significant development for H-1B visa holders and their families, a bipartisan National Security Agreement has been revealed, backed by the White House. The deal outlines automatic work authorization for approximately 100,000 H-4 visa holders, spouses, and children of specific H-1B visa holders.

The agreement, a relief for many Indian technology professionals awaiting Green Cards, addresses challenges faced by spouses unable to work and the threat of deportation for aged-out children. Additionally, it offers protection for children of long-term H-1B visa holders against aging, provided they maintain H4 status for eight years.

The bill provides an additional 18,000 employment-based green cards annually for the next five years, lifting country caps. This move comes as part of a comprehensive effort to address immigration issues and enhance the U.S. immigration system.
