President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated Bihar’s fourth agriculture road map, with a focus on enhancing agriculture production in the state. She was welcomed by Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Tejeshwi Yadav, and other officials upon her arrival. Agriculture plays a pivotal role in Bihar’s economy, with approximately 74% of the population dependent on it, contributing to 19-20% of the state’s GDP.
The previous agriculture road maps have been successful, particularly in increasing the production of food grains, winning prestigious awards for rice, wheat, and maize production. The current roadmap emphasizes organic farming, providing electricity to farmers, and developing green stretches to ensure water supply to all farmlands, with an aim to achieve these goals by the end of 2025.
