Bengali Hindus Confront Mamata Banerjee During Lecture in UK
During West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s lecture at Kellogg College, Oxford, Bengali Hindus raised strong objections, highlighting issues such as the rape and murder of a woman doctor at RG Kar, crimes in Sandeshkhali, and the alleged genocide of Hindus.
BJP leader Amit Malviya shared that protesters interrupted her speech, holding posters and chanting slogans, calling her a disgrace to West Bengal. Amid the protests, a question was raised about the condition of Hindus in Bengal, to which Mamata Banerjee responded by claiming she was for both Hindus and Muslims.
Malviya criticized her handling of the situation, pointing out the contrast between her usual authoritative stance and her meekness at the event. The BJP leader further suggested that if elections were fair, Mamata Banerjee would be voted out in 2026.
The Students Federation of India-UK also protested, accusing her of dishonesty and calling out her handling of social issues, which they claim prioritized profits over people.
