The baya weavers have returned to their favored palm tree in Ottiyambakkam, dispelling fears of their departure due to environmental stressors. This palm, situated near a water channel and amidst nature, offers ideal conditions for nesting and feeding.
The meticulous birds value the tree’s location and access to resources, synchronizing their breeding with the monsoon seasons. Recently, new nests have appeared, with male weavers actively constructing them, reviving the tree with their presence and reaffirming their bond with this habitat.
