A collision between an auto-rickshaw and a truck in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday left seven school children injured. The incident, captured on CCTV cameras at Sangam Sarat Theatre crossroads, showed the speeding auto-rickshaw losing control and colliding with the truck, causing it to overturn. Passersby quickly came to the aid of the injured children, transferring them to the hospital where two were reported to be in critical condition.
The truck came to a stop about 100 meters from the collision site. Locals apprehended the truck’s driver and cleaner, handing them over to the police. However, after reviewing the CCTV footage, authorities concluded that the collision resulted from negligence on the part of the auto-rickshaw driver.
