Australia’s Prime Minister Promotes Clean Energy for Economic Growth
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese emphasized the importance of clean energy in his government’s plan to strengthen the country’s economy. Speaking at the Future Energy forum in Sydney, Albanese outlined his vision for leveraging the transition to clean energy to drive economic growth and job creation, particularly in regional areas and manufacturing.
He highlighted green hydrogen exports as a sector with significant potential, aligning with a government report suggesting the hydrogen industry could contribute AUD 50 billion ($32 billion) to the country’s GDP by 2050. Albanese stressed the need for investments in energy transmission to ensure reliable and affordable access to clean energy for businesses and industries, reducing both costs and emissions.
