Attempt to Hoist Saffron Flag Alongside Tricolour Thwarted in Karnataka

Karnataka Police successfully thwarted an attempt to hoist a saffron flag alongside the Indian Tricolour during the 77th Independence Day celebrations in Belagavi district. Two municipal corporators, supported by their followers, aimed to hoist the saffron flag on the Nipani City municipality building alongside the national flag.

The incident occurred after the Tricolour was hoisted by the local BJP MLA and former minister Shashikala Jolle in the presence of district authorities. The corporators, representing the Nipani Municipality, Vinayaka Wade, and Sanjaya Sangaovkar, supported by the NCP party, were prevented by the police from carrying out their plan.
