Arvind Kejriwal Skips 5th Summons from ED in Delhi Excise Policy Case
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has refused to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning in connection with an alleged money laundering case related to the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy. This comes after the ED issued the fifth summons to Kejriwal, who had previously skipped four summons over the last four months.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) termed the summons “illegal” and accused the ED of repeatedly sending notices with the intention to arrest Kejriwal. The party alleged that the BJP is attempting to topple the Delhi government by orchestrating Kejriwal’s arrest, vowing to resist such efforts. The excise policy, which was later scrapped, faced allegations of favoring certain dealers through bribery, a claim denied by the AAP. The ED registered a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) following the scrapping of the policy.
