Arrests Made in Gold Jewellery Theft from Elderly Woman

The Nandambakkam police have apprehended two suspects involved in stealing gold jewellery from an elderly woman after deceiving her. Last Wednesday, D. Kanmani Ammal, 85, was approached by two individuals who advised her to remove her jewellery for safety reasons, claiming a surge in thefts in the area. Trusting them, she handed over her gold chain and bangle, which the suspects replaced with another bundle before absconding.

Upon inspection, Ms. Kanmani Ammal discovered her jewellery missing. Following an investigation, Kathi Ravindra Babu and Babar Ali were arrested, and the vehicle used in the crime was seized, underscoring the importance of vigilance against such deceptive tactics.
