Arrests Made in Connection with Country-made Gun Possession Near Poonamallee
Three individuals with a history of criminal activities were apprehended by the Nazarathpet police near Poonamallee for the possession of a country-made gun. The arrest occurred when a police team, led by the Nazarathpet police inspector, was conducting vehicle checks near Throwpathi Amman temple. Upon attempting to stop a car, the vehicle attempted to flee, prompting a pursuit by the police.
Three passengers were successfully apprehended, identified as Praveen, 24, Sunil, 24, and Nareshkumar, all residents of Tiruvallur district, while a fourth individual managed to escape.
The police seized a country-made gun with bullets from the trio. There is suspicion that these individuals may be connected to a suspect previously arrested in connection with the murder of a BJP functionary in Nazarathpet. Investigations into the matter are currently underway.
