Three suspects have been arrested by the city police for their alleged involvement in a burglary at a businessman’s house in Injambakkam. The arrest follows a complaint filed by the businessman’s brother, Amith Kumar Agarwal, after discovering the burglary on January 30. The complaint detailed the theft of expensive gold, silver, diamond jewelry, and cash from the house owned by Amritha and her husband Brajesh Kumar, who were out of the country at the time.
Five special teams were formed to investigate the case, leading to the identification of Prakash Khadka, a part-time driver working at the house, and his associates, Manoj Masi and Janak Prasad Jaishi. The suspects had planned to flee to Nepal via Delhi with the stolen items, prompting a multi-city search operation by the police.
The arrests resulted in the recovery of over 90% of the stolen properties, with efforts ongoing to apprehend the remaining accomplice. Additionally, it was revealed that the arrested individuals have multiple pending criminal cases in Bengaluru and Thane cities.
