Arrests Made for Harassment and Vandalism in Chennai

In Chennai’s Adambakkam area, police arrested V. Suresh, 33, and R. Karthik, 30, for harassing R. Punitha and vandalizing her property. The incident occurred after Punitha and her daughter Renuka repeatedly asked Suresh to return gold jewelry he had taken and pledged.

Enraged, Suresh, along with accomplices, went to Punitha’s home, quarreled with her, and hurled a beer bottle at her house on June 12, 2024. Following Punitha’s complaint, the police registered a case under the IPC and the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, leading to the suspects’ arrest on June 15.
