Arrest of Lalit Patil’s Women Associates Reveals New Details in Drug Lord’s Case
In a significant development, Pune Police has apprehended two women associates of the drug lord Lalit Patil, who was recently arrested by the Mumbai Police near Chennai. Pragya Kamble and Archana Nikam were arrested from their homes in Nashik and subsequently brought to Pune. The women are alleged to have played a key role in aiding Patil during his 15-day evasion across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. Preliminary information suggests that they were in constant contact with Patil as he evaded police, and he even spent a day with Archana Nikam during his run.
It is reported that Patil received financial assistance from both women for his on-road expenses. The police have further disclosed that Patil had hidden ill-gotten wealth in cash, silver, and gold jewelry with the arrested women. This arrest comes on the heels of Patil’s alleged ‘escape’ from Sassoon Hospital in Pune earlier this month, leading to a massive manhunt. The case has ignited a political controversy in the state and is poised to uncover more details about the narcotics network supporting Patil.
