Arrest Made in Tragic Kidnapping and Murder of Eight-Year-Old Boy
In a heartbreaking incident, the Padirivedu Police in Tiruvallur district have apprehended a 52-year-old man suspected of being involved in the kidnapping and murder of eight-year-old S. Hanish. The young boy, a Class V student, went missing from Palavedu village in Gummidipoondi on Saturday while playing near his house.
His parents filed a complaint, leading to a crucial tip from villagers who spotted the boy with a neighbor, Rekha, and her friend Ravannaih, heading towards a village in Andhra Pradesh. Subsequent police investigations revealed that Rekha and Ravannaih had abducted the child with plans to demand ransom but, tragically, smothered him to death as he cried.
The perpetrators then disposed of the boy’s body in a remote area. While Rekha has been arrested, Ravannaih was initially on the run but was later apprehended by the police. The incident has sparked outrage, with villagers expressing their anger by ransacking Rekha’s residence.
