In Goa, an individual, originally from Uttar Pradesh, was arrested for tearing a banner featuring Lord Ram displayed at Porvorim in North Goa. The banner was put up to convey best wishes for the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22. The police, while confirming the arrest, did not disclose the identity of the accused.
Residents expressed concerns about potential communal tensions but emphasized that such incidents affecting religious sentiments would not be tolerated.
