Arrest Made in Brutal Attack: Youth Sets Girl on Fire in Uttar Pradesh

In a shocking incident in Ayodhya district, Uttar Pradesh, a 19-year-old youth named Ashu was arrested after setting a girl student on fire. The victim sustained 20% burn injuries when Ashu intercepted her on Lalganj Jaisinghmau Road, poured petrol on her, and ignited the fire. The courageous girl saved herself by jumping into a water-filled pit, and locals rushed to her rescue.

She was initially taken to a local government hospital and later referred to the district hospital and Trauma Centre in Lucknow. Ashu fled the scene but was later apprehended by the police after an encounter in a nearby forest area. The arrest resulted in a police officer and the accused sustaining bullet injuries during the confrontation.
