Anurag Agarwal Takes Helm of Parliament Security
IPS officer Anurag Agarwal has been appointed as the head of Parliament security, stepping into the role of joint secretary (security) for a three-year term. Currently serving as an inspector general in CRPF, Agarwal’s appointment comes amidst heightened security concerns following a breach in December.
Tasked with overhauling security protocols, Agarwal assumes leadership at a critical juncture, with a mandate to bolster defenses and safeguard the Parliament House complex. His appointment fills the vacancy left by the departure of the previous joint secretary, Raghubir Lal, signaling a continued tradition of IPS leadership in the security apparatus of Parliament.
