Anti-Corruption Bureau Uncovers Graft Trail in Telangana’s RTA

In a series of surprise raids across 12 locations in Telangana, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials, posing as lorry drivers, have exposed malpractices within the Road Transport Authority (RTA). Seizing unaccounted cash amounting to ₹2.70 lakh, the ACB unearthed instances of bribery and irregularities at various RTA offices and check posts.

Mahabubabad RTA and Bandlaguda RTA offices were among the top locations where cash seizures were made, implicating district transport officials in illegal cash collection. Common issues noted included unauthorized personnel, illegal monetary transactions, and violations such as missing Motor Vehicle Inspectors and uniformed staff. Further investigations are ongoing to address the discovered irregularities and ensure accountability within the department.
