Andhra Pradesh’s Education Empowerment Initiative: Jagananna Vidya Deevena
In a significant move towards educational empowerment, the Andhra Pradesh government is set to disburse ₹708 crore under the Jagananna Vidya Deevena scheme on March 1. Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will personally oversee the deposit of funds into the bank accounts of over 9.44 lakh mothers and students. This initiative marks a milestone as the total disbursement under Vidya Deevena and Vasathi Deevena schemes reaches ₹18,000 crore, showcasing the government’s commitment to accessible higher education.
With 93% of students benefiting from full fee reimbursement across various courses, the scheme underscores inclusivity and support for students pursuing ITI, polytechnic, degree, engineering, and medical courses. By covering educational as well as boarding and lodging expenses, the government ensures comprehensive support for students’ academic pursuits.
The scheme’s streamlined process, including direct deposits into joint accounts and a dedicated helpline for issue resolution, reflects a holistic approach towards facilitating educational opportunities for all.
