Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced plans to honor the late media baron Ramoji Rao by establishing the ‘Ramoji Vignan Kendra’ in Amaravati and developing a ‘Ramoji Chitra Nagari’ film city in Visakhapatnam. At a commemorative event, Naidu recalled Ramoji Rao’s substantial contributions to journalism, cinema, and the social sector, noting his suggestion for the name Amaravati for the state’s new capital.
The Chief Minister also proposed naming a road after Ramoji Rao and advocated for posthumously awarding him the Bharat Ratna. Deputy CM K. Pawan Kalyan and other dignitaries praised Ramoji Rao’s integrity and leadership in upholding journalistic values and fighting for press freedom.
