On July 25, the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet resolved to express gratitude to the Central government for its assurances regarding the Polavaram project’s funding and expedited completion. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced plans to begin reconstruction of the damaged diaphragm wall, acknowledging it would take two to three seasons to complete and could extend the overall project timeline beyond three years.
The Cabinet urged Naidu to request additional central funds specifically for the diaphragm wall repair, highlighting the importance of maintaining the project’s proposed height for optimal storage capacity. They also resolved to thank the Governor for his address and emphasized the need for efficient staffing and clear documentation in Ministerial offices. Naidu stressed the importance of avoiding vindictive politics and ensuring the protection of innocent individuals amidst ongoing political tensions.
