Andhra Pradesh Receives ₹9,151 Crore for Railway Enhancements

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced a substantial ₹9,151 crore allocation for railway projects in Andhra Pradesh as part of the recent Budget. This funding will support the development of new lines, station upgrades, and infrastructure improvements across the state. Notable projects include a new 56.53-km line costing ₹2,047 crore, with a bridge over the Krishna River, and extensive upgrades under the Amrit Bharat Stations Scheme for 73 stations.

Challenges such as land issues for the South Coast Railway Zone and the establishment of the Amaravati station are being addressed. Additionally, the state has achieved 100% electrification of its railway lines, with significant projects planned for the Kotipalli-Narsapur section, Vijayawada-Gudur line, and more.
