Andhra Pradesh DGP Recommends Liquor Sales Ban in Palnadu District
In light of the upcoming vote counting scheduled for June 4, Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta proposes a temporary ban on liquor sales in Palnadu district from June 3 to 5 to maintain law and order. Alongside monitoring social media posts for potential disturbances, the DGP instructs security checks at hotels and lodges, with directives to apprehend suspicious individuals.
With stringent measures in place, including appointing dedicated police officers for each Assembly constituency and providing body cameras, authorities aim to prevent any potential disruptions during this critical period. Palnadu Collector Lathkar Shrikesh Balajirao emphasizes readiness to enforce prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Cr.PC if tensions escalate.
