Andhra Pradesh Approves ₹24,276 Crore for Amaravati Development

The Andhra Pradesh government has approved major infrastructure projects worth ₹24,276 crore for the capital city of Amaravati, including the construction of the Legislative Assembly and High Court buildings, as well as five iconic towers. The Legislative Assembly will be a 250-meter high tower with a built-up area of 11.22 lakh sq. ft., while the High Court will be a 55-meter high, G+7 structure.

Additionally, the five towers will house government offices, with the GAD tower reaching 47 floors. The approval also includes laying 579.50 km of LPS roads and providing essential utilities at a cost of ₹9,699 crore. However, cost escalation since the project’s inception has been significant, with increases ranging from 28% to 49% in various components.
