Akhilesh Yadav Calls UP CM’s ‘Zero Poverty’ Promise Another Empty Jumla

Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav strongly criticized Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s recent promise to eliminate poverty from the state. He said the “zero poverty” goal is just another false claim, or jumla, made to mislead people before the elections.

While speaking to the media, Akhilesh Yadav questioned the government’s progress over the last several years. He asked how poverty could end when many people are still struggling to find jobs, earn enough money, or access basic services like healthcare and education.

He said, “If the government was serious about ending poverty, people would not be facing so many problems today. Unemployment is high, farmers are unhappy, and inflation is hurting common families. The ‘zero poverty’ promise is only a slogan, not a real plan.”

Akhilesh also pointed out that during the BJP government’s time in power, poor families have not seen major improvements in their lives. He said many welfare schemes either don’t reach the people or are not enough to meet their needs. He also accused the government of spending more time making announcements than doing real work on the ground.

The former Chief Minister urged people to ask tough questions and demand real action. He said that simply making big promises does not solve real problems. “We need jobs, better schools, hospitals, and fair prices for farmers—not just speeches and slogans,” he added.

Akhilesh Yadav also promised that if the Samajwadi Party comes to power, it will focus on real development. He said his party will work hard to create jobs, improve education, support farmers, and make life better for all sections of society.

The political battle in Uttar Pradesh is heating up as elections come closer. With leaders making bold promises, voters now face the challenge of deciding whom to trust. As Akhilesh Yadav questions the reality behind the “zero poverty” promise, people across the state are watching closely to see who will bring real change.
