Three US Marines lost their lives and 20 others were injured in an aircraft crash during a training exercise off Australia’s north coast. The Marine Rotational Force (MRF) Darwin confirmed the fatalities and injuries, with five personnel in serious condition and undergoing treatment at the Royal Darwin Hospital.
The incident involved an MV-22 Osprey aircraft carrying 23 personnel, which crashed on Melville Island during a routine training exercise. Australia’s Department of Defence confirmed that all individuals on board were American personnel.
