The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) of the Tamil Nadu government launched raids at 16 locations connected to AIADMK leader and former MLA B. Sathyanarayanan as part of a disproportionate assets case.
The DVAC initiated the case on Tuesday, alleging that the ex-MLA had amassed assets worth Rs 2.64 crore, disproportionate to his known sources of income. The searches are taking place at various premises in Chennai and Coimbatore.
Supporters of the former MLA, including AIADMK cadres, have gathered at his residence in T-Nagar as DVAC officers conduct the raids, along with simultaneous actions at other locations.
