Aavin to Launch Fortified Milk to Address Nutrient Deficiencies

Aavin, the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers Federation, is set to launch a fortified version of its popular “green magic” milk with enhanced nutrients. This new variant, which will be available in select districts, contains 4.5% fat and is enriched with vitamins A and D, along with additional protein, making it particularly beneficial for children.

The move comes in response to studies highlighting widespread deficiencies in essential micronutrients like zinc, iron, folic acid, and vitamins A and D among both urban and rural populations. The fortification initiative aims to combat these health gaps and promote better nutrition.
