AAP MPs Protest Arrest of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Boycott President’s Address
AAP MPs staged a protest on the Parliament premises against the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was recently remanded to three days of CBI custody in connection with an Excise policy case. Holding placards condemning the alleged misuse of investigative agencies like ED and CBI, the MPs boycotted President Droupadi Murmu’s address to Parliament on June 27.
Sandeep Pathak, an AAP leader, emphasized that they view the President and the Constitution as supreme, and accused the government of enforcing dictatorship under the guise of justice. Kejriwal himself spoke in court, refuting claims against his deputy Manish Sisodia and insisting on innocence amidst media scrutiny. The Delhi High Court had earlier stayed his bail, citing procedural concerns under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
