Amit Palekar, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief in Goa, vehemently refuted claims suggesting that funds from Delhi’s alleged excise policy-linked scam fueled the party’s campaign for the 2022 Assembly polls in the coastal state. Palekar asserted that there is no evidence to support such allegations and stated that he and his party colleagues are prepared to face any inquiry by any agency.
Dismissing the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) accusations, Palekar accused the agency of fabricating evidence against the AAP, emphasizing that the party’s candidates self-financed their campaign expenditures. He highlighted the voluntary efforts of AAP workers, contrasting them with the financial expenditures of rival parties like the Congress and BJP. Palekar affirmed his and the AAP’s readiness to confront any inquiry, expressing firm support for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal amidst his custody by the ED.
