6.0 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Hindu Kush Region, Tremors Felt in India and Pakistan

A powerful earthquake, measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale, struck the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan on Thursday. The tremors were felt in parts of north India and Pakistan. The GFZ German Research Centre for Geoscience reported the quake’s epicenter at a depth of 192.1 km, initially determined to be at 36.52 degrees north latitude and 70.71 degrees east longitude.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) mentioned a magnitude of 6.4, with the epicenter 44 km south-southeast of Jurm, Afghanistan. While there are no immediate reports of casualties or damages, light tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR, and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan reported the effects.
