21 dead and 10 missing due to torrential rain in South Korea
Heavy rains in South Korea have resulted in the deaths of 21 people and forced thousands to evacuate their homes, according to authorities. As of Saturday, 10 individuals were reported missing, while nine others sustained injuries.
The majority of fatalities occurred in the southeastern province of North Gyeongsang, where landslides and housing collapses claimed the lives of 16 individuals. In response to the overflowing Goesan Dam, approximately 6,400 residents in the central county of Goesan were evacuated.
The situation is being closely monitored as rescue and relief efforts continue to assist affected communities.
