Two individuals have been arrested in Mangaluru city, Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada district, for selling chocolates laced with drugs. The police reported on Friday that their main targets were students and young workers. The arrested individuals are 45-year-old Bechan Sonar from Uttar Pradesh and 49-year-old Manohar Shet from Mangaluru.
The Mangaluru South Police were responsible for their arrest. Sonar had set up a small stall where he sold chocolates laced with drugs. The illicit products were named ‘Mahashakthi Munakka,’ ‘Bum Bum Munakka Vati,’ ‘Power Munakka Vati,’ and ‘Anand Churna.’
The police confiscated chocolates worth Rs 5,500. Sonar’s stall was located near Highland Junction in Mangaluru, while Manohar operated from Car Street within Mangaluru North Police Station limits.
