Little Flower Convent Higher Secondary School has introduced two apps, Vision Companion and Audible, to assist hearing and visually challenged students in their studies. Developed by BNY Mellon Technology, these apps enable higher-class students to access lessons at home independently.
The Vision Companion app is designed for visually impaired students, allowing them to download lessons and read them. It features a split screen, with the bottom half dedicated to a microphone icon.
By tapping on the screen and speaking a keyword from a lesson, the app will download the corresponding lesson from Google Drive and read it aloud to the user. These innovative apps aim to empower students with disabilities and enhance their learning experience.
