₹10 Crore Worth of Cocaine Seized from Air Passenger at Chennai Airport
Authorities at the Chennai airport apprehended a 28-year-old man from Rajasthan who arrived from Doha with over 1 kg of cocaine, valued at ₹10 crore in the international market. Acting on a tip-off from a Central agency, the air intelligence unit of Chennai customs intercepted the passenger, Bharat Vasita, during a routine inspection.
The white powder was discovered concealed in a secret chamber in one of his bags. Despite his intention to travel to Delhi, his journey was interrupted, and he was detained for questioning. A chemical analysis confirmed the substance to be cocaine, sourced from an African country. Investigations are ongoing to determine the source of the drug and its intended destination.
