₹1 Crore Cash Seized by Chennai Police During Vehicle Inspection

Chennai City Police seized ₹1 crore in cash from two individuals during a routine vehicle inspection in George Town. The Kothavalchavadi Police detained S. Abdul Haja and M. Dhanasekar after finding ₹50 lakh in each of the bags they were carrying.

The duo claimed they were transporting the cash to deposit it in a bank, stating they worked for foreign exchange offices in Mannadi and Angappan Naicken Street. The police have notified the Income Tax Department about the cash seizure for further investigation.
