OUT! Run Out. Kane Richardson to Shaheen Afridi. Half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, to short extra cover, direct hit by Maxwell. A piece of brilliance from Maxwell finishes the job, an athletic jump and accurate throw catches Sarfaraz short at the non-striker's end. Australia have beaten Pakistan by 41 runs in a tense contest in Taunton to leap up the table into second place. The balance of the match shifted back and forth in an absorbing day, in the end the reigning champions did enough to get over the line thanks to a David Warner century and regular wickets from the seamers in the chase. Warner's partnership with Aaron Finch set things up nicely, despite a little wobble at the death, and Pat Cummins was incisive with the ball in hand. Pakistan looked threatening at various stages with Mohammad Amir's maiden ODI five wicket haul the highlight for them, however he really was the lone beacon of hope with the other bowlers not at their best. They will also reflect that their fielding was below par, something which might have ended up costing them the points this Wednesday evening. Attention turns to Trent Bridge tomorrow, where India will take on New Zealand in a mouth-watering encounter.

OUT! Bowled. Mitchell Starc to Mohammad Amir. Full toss, outside off stump on the front foot driving, inside edge to. Dragged onto the base of middle stump, Starc strikes again to leave Australia on the verge of victory. It's not the greatest delivery the left-armer will ever bowl but he had pushed Amir back in the crease with a couple of fast ones and that caused him to be late on the shot. Heartbreak for Amir after an amazing bowling display earlier in the day.

OUT! Caught. Mitchell Starc to Wahab Riaz. Seaming away back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot pushing, outside edge to wicketkeeper, by Carey. Drama in Taunton, this is a massive moment in the match. It's a tentative appeal from the Aussies, Finch leaves it until the last moment and then eventually signals for a review. He'll be delighted as he sees a little spike on Ultra Edge as the ball passes the bat, he's got it spot on as this tense match continues to amaze. Wahab's brilliant knock comes to an end, Starc is the man for Australia.

4
FOUR! Hassan Ali to Alex Carey. Short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, well timed in the air under control past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. Swatted to the fence, you can't bowl that length to Carey because he loves to play the pull shot. Australia are closing in on 300.

4
FOUR! Hassan Ali to Alex Carey. Off cutter half volley, middle stump backing away driving, well timed past deep extra cover for 4 runs. Sublime stroke, picking his spot and manufacturing the ball there by shuffling around the crease. Carey is looking in prime form so far in this World Cup.

4
FOUR! Hassan Ali to Usman Khawaja. Back of a length, down leg side on the back foot glancing, past fine leg for 4 runs. Nudged fine, runs really flowing again for the Aussies as they look to launch towards a massive total.

Runs : 12 Bowler: Wahab Riaz Wickets : 0
40.5
4
FOUR! Wahab Riaz to Shaun Marsh. Full toss, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep extra cover for 4 runs. Easy pickings, Marsh just had to make sure he threaded the ball between two fielders and the fast outfield did the rest.
40.3
4
FOUR! Wahab Riaz to Usman Khawaja. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot Steer, well timed past third man for 4 runs. Really clever batting, Khawaja able to manoeuvre the ball into gaps no matter where Sarfaraz moves his fielders.
40.2
4
FOUR! Wahab Riaz to Usman Khawaja. Short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, well timed in the air under control for 4 runs. Fetched with impunity, Khawaja latched onto that in the blink of an eye and made a sweet connection.

4
FOUR! Shaheen Afridi to Shaun Marsh. Half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past long off for 4 runs, mis-fielded by Malik. More shoddy fielding, Pakistan have been really poor in that department today. Marsh is the benefactor this time as he gets his first boundary.

4
FOUR! Shaheen Afridi to David Warner. Seaming away length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, outside edge past third man for 4 runs. Edged between keeper and slip, the bowler has his hands on his head but it doesn't stop Warner leaping with joy. You can see that means a lot to him, a massive smile on his face as he removes his helmet and acknowledges his teammates. It's been a superb knock by the left-hander.

4
FOUR! Shaheen Afridi to David Warner. Short, outside off stump on the back foot cutting, bottom edge past third man for 4 runs. Edged fine, Warner won't mind how they come as he approaches three figures. A wry smile from the bowler, he knows that wasn't what the batsman intended but it was a poor delivery all the same.

32.5
4
FOUR! Mohammad Hafeez to Glenn Maxwell. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, well timed in the air under control past long on for 4 runs. Another lusty blow, four more for Maxwell as he finds the boundary with contempt.
32.1
4
FOUR! Mohammad Hafeez to Glenn Maxwell. Off break back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, well timed in the air under control past deep square leg for 4 runs. Too short, easy pickings for Maxwell to rock back deep in the crease and smoke his first boundary.

Runs : 4 Bowler: Shoaib Malik Wickets : 0
27.3
4
FOUR! Shoaib Malik to David Warner. Off break full toss, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep extra cover for 4 runs. Shadab Khan is on the field as a sub and is usually excellent at saving runs, however a tame piece of work means Warner picks up his ninth four of the day. Pakistan look very flat.
In over# 24
Runs : 12 Bowler: Hassan Ali Wickets : 0
23.5
4
FOUR! Hassan Ali to Steven Smith. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep cover for 4 runs. Boundaries are flowing now, Smith joins the party with a flowing drive that zips quickly to the rope. Pakistan really need someone to support Amir, at the moment it's a one man show with the ball making it far too easy for Australia.
23.2
4
FOUR! Hassan Ali to David Warner. Half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep extra cover for 4 runs. Another high quality stroke, but the bowler hasn't learned from the error he made previous delivery. It's far too full again and easy pickings for Warner to thread the gap at extra cover.
23.1
4
FOUR! Hassan Ali to David Warner. Half volley, middle stump on the front foot driving, well timed past long off for 4 runs. Fantastic shot, leaning into the full delivery and showing the face of the bat to the ball. All of a sudden the pressure on the batsmen is gone.

21.6
4
FOUR! Hassan Ali to David Warner. Length ball, off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep point for 4 runs. Creamed square, no chance for the sweeper so Warner moves to fifty. This opening partnership is providing Australia with a fantastic platform.
In over# 17
Runs : 8 Bowler: Mohammad Hafeez Wickets : 0
16.4
4
FOUR! Mohammad Hafeez to Aaron Finch. Off break back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot cutting, well timed past deep cover for 4 runs. Four more, really intelligent batting to bring up a quality fifty for Finch. He knew this ball would be slightly shorter after using his feet the previous delivery, meaning he could stay deep in the crease and punch it into the gap.
16.3
4
FOUR! Mohammad Hafeez to Aaron Finch. Off break length ball, outside off stump down the track driving, well timed past long off for 4 runs. Brutal force, the ball is back past the bowler before he can move a muscle. That is Finch at his destructive best.
In over# 16

15.6
4
FOUR! Shaheen Afridi to Aaron Finch. Half volley, middle stump on the front foot pushing, well timed past long on for 4 runs, mis-fielded by Malik. A sloppy piece of fielding spoils the over, that will really annoy the bowler.

13.5
4
FOUR! Shaheen Afridi to David Warner. Short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, well timed past deep backward square leg for 4 runs. Quality stroke, rolling the wrists at the perfect moment to keep the ball safely on the turf and away from the man in the deep.

Runs : 8 Bowler: Wahab Riaz Wickets : 0
12.5
4
FOUR! Wahab Riaz to Aaron Finch. Back of a length, down leg side on the back foot pulling, Gloved past fine leg for 4 runs. Finch adds insult to injury by helping the next delivery after being dropped to the fence. Wahab does not look impressed at all, he is starting to work up some serious pace.
12.4
4
FOUR! Wahab Riaz to Aaron Finch. Seaming away length ball, outside off stump on the back foot driving, outside edge past third man for 4 runs, dropped catch by Ali, mis-fielded by Ali. Asif Ali puts down a sitter, that's as easy as they come in the slips. Finch was hanging back looking to flay the ball square and a little bit of nip from the deck caused it to fly off the edge. Luck for Australia.

4
FOUR! Hassan Ali to David Warner. Back of a length, middle stump on the back foot driving, well timed past deep cover for 4 runs. Delightful timing, Warner looks full of intent today after his sluggish half century against India at the weekend.
7.3
4
FOUR! Hassan Ali to Aaron Finch. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep point for 4 runs. Imperious stroke, standing tall to crunch the ball at the top of it's bounce with power and poise.
In over# 7
Runs : 4 Bowler: Mohammad Amir Wickets : 0
6.1
4
FOUR! Mohammad Amir to David Warner. Length ball, off stump on the front foot working, well timed past deep square leg for 4 runs. Just a gentle clip and the ball races away off Warner's heavy blade, frustration for Amir as he drifts slightly too straight.

3.5
4
FOUR! Shaheen Afridi to David Warner. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, well timed in the air under control past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. Another stroke played with a horizontal blade, the batsmen look very comfortable against anything back of a length. This is a solid start by Australia.

1.2
4
FOUR! Shaheen Afridi to David Warner. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, well timed past deep backward square leg for 4 runs. Nonchalantly dispatched for the first boundary of the day, Warner pounced upon the slightly short length with real conviction. Shaheen will need to get it much fuller than that to trouble the batsman.
In over# 41
Runs : 4 Bowler: Glenn Maxwell Wickets : 0
40.1
4
FOUR! Glenn Maxwell to Wahab Riaz. Off break length ball, to leg on the front foot slog sweeping, bottom edge past fine leg for 4 runs. That's an almighty hack from Wahab and he gets away with it, Maxwell was an inch away from providing Australia the breakthrough.

36.4
4
FOUR! Mitchell Starc to Wahab Riaz. Half volley, off stump on the front foot driving, outside edge past third man for 4 runs. Wahab gets sucked into a booming drive after fending off some short deliveries and even a full length dive from Smith at slip can't get close to it.

33.4
4
FOUR! Kane Richardson to Hassan Ali. Slower ball back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot driving, well timed in the air under control past deep extra cover for 4 runs. Richardson is really under pressure now, Hassan Ali has taken a real liking to him and wants to hit every ball to the boundary. This is a shot that a top order batsman would be proud of.
33.3
4
FOUR! Kane Richardson to Hassan Ali. Slower length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep extra cover for 4 runs. Stand and deliver, the batsman spotted the slower ball and then hammered it into a gap. What a cameo this is turning into.

FOUR! Nathan Coulter-Nile to Imam ul-Haq. Length ball, off stump down the track driving, well timed in the air under control past long off for 4 runs. 4
FOUR! Mitchell Starc to Imam ul-Haq. Short, outside off stump on the back foot cutting, well timed past deep backward point for 4 runs. Short and wide, all left-handers love it out there and Imam is no different. A handy boundary for Pakistan, Finch looks like he is starting to get a bit worried by this partnership.

FOUR! Kane Richardson to Imam ul-Haq. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot cutting, well timed past deep backward point for 4 runs, mis-fielded by Cummins. Scythed powerfully through point, Cummins tumbles in the deep and can't keep it in play. He probably should've done better with that.

FOUR! Glenn Maxwell to Mohammad Hafeez. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the front foot slog sweeping, well timed in the air under control past deep square leg for 4 runs. Hafeez continues to take the attack to Maxwell. He was looking to launch this out of the ground but doesn't quite get it perfectly off the middle so instead it bounces just inside the rope.

4
FOUR! Glenn Maxwell to Mohammad Hafeez. Off break length ball, outside off stump down the track driving, well timed in the air under control past deep extra cover for 4 runs. Hafeez was treated aggressively by Australia as a fifth bowling option earlier on, now he is going to use the same approach against Maxwell. Fancy footwork and a clean swing of the willow results in a confidence boosting four.

FOUR! Kane Richardson to Babar Azam. Seaming in back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot working, well timed past fine leg for 4 runs. That looked a little bit awkward as Babar had to take one hand off the handle but he still managed to time it impeccably and the placement was just as good.

4
FOUR! Pat Cummins to Babar Azam. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep extra cover for 4 runs. Babar Azam is making it look very easy out in the middle at the moment, four scoring shots and all of them have been picturesque drives through the offside.

FOUR! Mitchell Starc to Imam ul-Haq. Length ball, middle stump on the front foot glancing, well timed past fine leg for 4 runs. Tickled fine, three boundaries in the over and those wearing green in the crowd are starting to find their voices. Starc just strayed onto the pads there and got punished.

FOUR! Mitchell Starc to Imam ul-Haq. Short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, top edge in the air uncontrolled past third man for 4 runs. FOUR! Pat Cummins to Babar Azam. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep extra cover for 4 runs. Absolute perfection from Babar Azam, he knows it as well because he holds the pose for the cameras looking as graceful as ever.

FOUR! Pat Cummins to Babar Azam. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep cover for 4 runs. Another imperious drive, Finch has set a very attacking field so there are plenty of gaps for the batsmen to find and Babar is happy to take it on at the moment. This is a thrilling contest.

FOUR! Mitchell Starc to Imam ul-Haq. Short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, well timed in the air under control past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. Swatted with contempt, that has got the Pakistan fans making plenty of noise in the stands. Starc is quick but Imam was more than equal to it.

FOUR! Pat Cummins to Babar Azam. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed in the air under control past deep point for 4 runs. Creamed through point, that's a glorious way to get off the mark. Babar stands tall and sends it rocketing to the rope.
