The seasons of india

India is a land of many seasons. Traditionally the seasons in the Indian sub continent are divided into five kinds where each season prevails for approximately two to two and half months each. These seasons are, spring , summer, monsoon, autumn and winter. But if we observe the weather of India , we realize that the seasons can be predominantly divided into three kinds summer season, rainy season and the winter season. These seasons are also associated with the cultures, traditions and festivity in India. Spring brings with the festivals of harvest like Baisakhi and Pongal which mark The coming of pleasant weather in India. Spring is considered to be the youth of the year . This season of happiness and liveliness. The flowers are in full bloom at this time of the year and brides are chirping all around . As the year passes by the seasons also change and in comes summer. The summer heat is a very tiring of the year as the temperature reaches an all time high in May and June. The heat drives everybody indoors into the soothing environs of their homes and offices. The heat subsides ny the end of July, then comes the rainy season. It brings with it joy and relief from the heat of the summer. The aroma of the wet earth after the first monsoon shower is the most beautiful fragrance on earth. It refreshes and invigorates all the living beings bringing life to their parched existence after the terrible summer heat. The rainy season lasts till September, Followed by winter. Temperatures in north India are extreme during winters, sometimes reaching sub-zero temperatures. But, in central and south India the temperatures are more moderate due to the effect of the seas. Seasons in India affect the life and livelihood of the people too , in a major way.
