Courtesy Cost Nothing

Courtesy means polite behavior or good manners, The proverb ‘Courtesy costs nothing’ is a reminder to us to show courtesy because it is important, and yet it costs nothing. The man who is courteous is liked and admired. He is welcome at all places at all times. If a person does some favour to us, it is a courtesy to say ‘thanks you’. If we make a mistake, it is a courtesy to say ‘sorry’. Yet how many of us observe these courtesies? If we say ‘thank you’, we earn the goodwill of the listener. He or she will remember us as a cultured person. In times of adversity he will be help to us. A simple smile on the face of The listener whom we thank is in itself a big reward. When we say ‘sorry ‘ for anything wrong unintentionally done by us, we remove any feeling hurt or ill will from the mind of person changed. He or she will forgive us, and the other person will form a wrong opinion about ourselves. He may retaliate in return and try to harm us in any manner. Most of the quarrels and fights would not have occurred if the wrong doers realizes its mistake and feels ‘sorry’ . It is important to understand that some people are too proud or foolish to observe courtesies. In youth man feels that it is degrading to feel or say ‘sorry’. It is a wrong feeling. Many cases of road rage are simply caused by the fact that the driver who disobeys a traffic law does not admit his fault, rather he tries to overawe the wronged person in some way or the other . If a driver feels that he was in the wrong he should simply say ‘sorry’. The result will be good.
