A rolling stone gathers no moss

It is rightly said that a rolling stone gathers no moss. It means that a person who is determined and wavering can achieve no success in life. It is a known fact that determination and strong will power are essential to achieve any real success. The person who wavers is bound to fail in his project . He who remains in dilemma loses the chance to act and rise. It is most essential to make a right choice at the right time, and then to stick to one’s decision. Only then anything be achieved. In no field of life, a wavering person achieves anything. Nobody believes a rolling stone. There are examples of a political personalities who lose their credibility because of their wavering nature. Those shift their loyalties too soon lose their friends and well-wishers . Politicians who play ‘Aya Ram, Gaya Ram’ become a laughing stock in the eyes of the public. They fail to take any decisions. In the end, they are deserted by one and all. No political party gives them the ticket to fight election. Men who remain steadfast are praised, honoured and even worshipped. In spite of several pressures, karan in the Mahabharta refuses to shift his loyalty. His act of loyalty was admired even by his staunch critics. A man of action can never be a ‘rolling stone’. He has to be firm and decisive. Now the question arises why a person becomes ‘a rolling stat’ . Sometimes a person is indecisive because of his mental and moral weaknesses. Sometimes he acts out of plain selfishness and greed. He his poor in his judgment. He lacks a clear perspective. He is unable to distinguish between a friend and a foe .he has only short term gains in mind when he shifts his loyalty. He ignores the long term consequences of his decision. In short, he is timid and short sighted. Therefore, must avoid such person.
