Rotary Club’s fun filled car rally for a cause

Registered participants are ensured of gift hampers

 

Rotary Club of Madras Chenna Patna in association with The Ramco Cements Ltd is organising the much awaited car rally in Chennai on Sunday to part finance its Women Empowerment Project.

 

The car rally is open for the general public and will start from DG Vaishnav College, Arumbakkam at 6.30 am on September 26 and end at the same venue, covering a total distance of 30 km.

 

The Ramco Cements Ltd, one of the leading cement manufacturers in the South, is the title sponsor, while The Kamarajar Port Ltd and M&M are the associate sponsors.

 

It is a car rally with a difference, wherein participants will be asked to come in their own car to the venue. After completing the registration process, they have to proceed on a treasure hunt with the help of a tulip card given to them. Each card will contain certain clues pertaining either to the sponsors or the city landmarks. One of the participants has to click all the pictures. Those who complete the task successfully within a short duration will be announced as winners.

 

Four diamond pendants are kept as the first prize. Those coming second and third will get to stay in exotic holiday resorts of Club Mahindra and Sterling Resorts. Top 10 rankers will also get prizes. Best dressed car and car carrying best messages will also get prizes. In all there are 42 prizes worth Rs.2.20 lakh is up for grabs, said fundraising chairman Rtn Vallekkannu.

The entry fee for the rally is Rs.1,500 per car that can accommodate a maximum of four people. In return, all the participants will get a gift hamper of Rs.400 each from CavinKare plus breakfast.
