Rela Hospital Celebrates Christmas with the Spirit of Spreading Cheer!

On the occasion of Christmas, Rela Hospital welcomed a group of Santa Kids from The Alt School to experience the joy of Christmas among patients and caregivers. This community-based initiative aimed to bring smiles and holiday cheer to patients in distress to give them hope and strength.

Dressed as Santa Claus with a mission to ring the Christmas cheer, special children and 100 enthusiastic children from The Alt School aged between 2 to 14, walked into the lobbies of the hospital armed with gifts, chocolates, and infectious giggles. The children, along with their teachers and school staff, went across the hospital bringing laughter and warmth to patients, caregivers, and staff. The young Santa Squad, also comprising special children, fostered a sense of community and togetherness in the hospital environment. The squad engaged in various activities such as carol singing, dancing, and handing over specially curated goodie bags filled with presents and treats.

Thiru. G. Kamaraj, Deputy Mayor, Tambaram City Municipal Corporation also joined the Christmas festivities at the hospital.

Prof. Mohamed Rela, Chairman and Managing Director, Rela Hospital said, “The hospital is committed to fostering a sense of community, and therefore, when opportunities arrive, we involve our stakeholders to be a part of our initiatives. It is heartwarming to watch these little Santas transform and touch lives. Seeing the radiant smiles on our patients and staff reminds us that it is the small acts of kindness that impact the most. Involving our community is not just a festive celebration but a testament to our efforts to create an environment where healing transcends medical care.”

Speaking on this occasion, Ms. Deepa Aathreya, Founder, ALT School said, “Christmas is all about the season of smiles, joy, and hope. At the ALT School, we dress up our children every year as Santa Claus to visit various places to spread the Christmas cheer. Our little Santas visited Rela Hospital to cheer their patients, doctors, staff, and caregivers. It was a wholesome experience for the children, as well as they were also delighted to see that they made people happy.”
