Chennai hosts Windergy India 2023

Chennai, 4th October 2023 : Windergy India 2023, the foremost industry platform dedicated to the wind energy sector, officially commenced its highly anticipated trade fair and conference today at Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai.
The three-day trade fair and conference promises to be a game-changer for the renewable energy landscape, running from October 4 to October 6, 2023.
The inauguration ceremony of the event witnessed the esteemed presence of inaugural speeches resonated with a common theme – the pivotal role of wind energy in the global energy transition.
Mr. Rajesh Lakhoni, IAS, CMD, Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Ltd. (TANGEDCO), and H.E. Freddy Svane, Danish Ambassador to India presided over the event.
Mr. D V Giri, Secretary General, IWTMA (Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association) was also present among the Key Speakers during the inauguration of exposition and conference.
These esteemed dignitaries underscored the imperative need for collaboration, policy reforms, and technological innovation to accelerate the growth of the wind energy industry plays in the global energy transition.

“The future lies in round the clock power through renewable energy. The solution lies in wind or solar equipments hybrid with storage. Renewable energy is providing affordable electricity and can also help stabilize energy prices in the future. Renewable technologies can also create a system less prone to market shocks and improve energy security by diversifying power supply options that are currently available,” Mr Giri said.
Later in the day, V. Vishnu, IAS, Managing Director & CEO of the Tamil Nadu Industrial Guidance & Export Promotion Bureau (Guidance), Government of Tamil Nadu graced the occasion during the Round Table of Tamil Nadu Guidance Bureau.
The round table will involve key stakeholders from Spain, UK, Germany and Denmark. These vital discussions will provide an opportunity for collaboration among the most important players in the wind energy sector.
On the second day, Ms. Beela Rajesh, IAS, Principal Secretary Energy, Government of Tamil Nadu will be the Guest of Honor during the Valedictory Session in the evening.
Deliberation on Offshore Potential in Tamil Nadu and NIWE’s assessment and development plans will be moderated by Dr. Rajesh Katyal,Director General, National Institute of Wind Energy Windergy India 2023, with a large exhibition area and a comprehensive conference program, makes it a unique gathering of thought leaders and game-changers who are steering the sustainable energy revolution.
